Carol A. McCloskey February 8, 1948 - August 3, 2022 Port Matilda, Pennsylvania - Carol A. McCloskey, 74, of Port Matilda, passed away suddenly Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at her home. Born February 8, 1948, in Philipsburg, PA Carol was the daughter of the late Boyd and Jean (Williams) Gensamer. On July 14, 1984, she married Kenneth R. McCloskey who preceded her in death. Carol graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1966 and a graduate of Empire Beauty School. She was the owner and proprietor of Carol McCloskey Beauty Salon for 54 years. Carol was a lifetime member of the Martha United Methodist Church and served as the pianist, organist, and music director for decades. She took over these positions from her mother, Jean upon her retirement. Carol was a chairman of the Martha Fall Festival for 25 years. She was a member of the Port Matilda Grange #1284 and served as the President for 34 years. Carol was a former member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon along with her husband. She was the Secretary of the Williams Cemetery Association. Carol loved music, playing the piano and was an accomplished musician. She was a "jack of all trades" and could fix anything (especially with duck tape). Carol was an artist, enjoyed gardening, lawn work (especially mowing the lawn), spending time with her cats and she loved to watch the birds. One of her greatest assets was talking to and listening to friends, family and even strangers and she liked camping at Grange Fair. Carol is survived by her daughter, Greta Panasiti of Port Matilda; sister Louise Giedroc of State College; niece Lisa Williams (Ron); nephew Darren Walker (Brenda) all of Bellefonte; 2 great nieces, Devan Walker of Manhatten, KS and Valaree Williams (Matt) of Philadelphia; great nephew Jesse Walker of Scottsdale, AZ; cousin Faye Steele of Tyrone and many other cousins that she thought the world of. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by brother-in-law Alex Giedroc and great nephew Jordan Williams. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 at Martha United Methodist Church. Time and details will be announced at a later date.
