Britney Spears finally working on new music after a six-year break and escaping conservatorship

BRITNEY Spears hasn’t released an album for six years but now she is free from her conservatorship, the singer is taking steps towards a comeback.

I have learned that her team have started to approach several of her former collaborators to work on new music with her.

They include Claude Kelly, who has written huge hit singles for Jason Derulo, Miley Cyrus and Jessie J, and most notably worked with the Toxic singer on her 2008 album Circus — which produced the hit singles Womanizer, Circus and If U Seek Amy.

A music insider said: “It is very early days and Britney isn’t putting any pressure on herself to release an album right away or anything, but her team are putting feelers out about the prospect of new music.

“Several people who she feels comfortable working with have been contacted and asked if they would like to work on music with Britney again and everyone seems pretty keen to be involved.

“She has been through an incredibly tough few years but deep down she does love making music and performing so to have some new music out there could really help her turn over a new leaf.”

There is huge demand among her fans for new music from Britney, who is one of the most successful musicians in pop history, with more than 150million records sold worldwide.

Since signing her record deal 25 years ago, she has scored six UK No1 singles and eight Top Ten albums here.

Britney released four albums while she was bound by her conservatorship, but in 2019 she started to refuse to work on any new music, in a bid to get out of the arrangement.

Back in December she said that not making music was a way of saying “f*ck you” to her family for keeping her in the conservatorship, but it seems she is now more open to the idea after an outpouring of love from her fans.

In a post on her Instagram account — which she decided to deactivate last week — Britney said: “I guess it seems odd to most now why I don’t even do my music any more . . .  that’s just the surface issues.

“People have no idea the awful things that were done to me personally . . .  and after what I’ve been through, I’m scared of people and the business.

“Not doing my music any more is my way of saying, ‘F*ck you’, in a sense when it only actually benefits my family by ignoring my real work.”

Several of her former collaborators have stood up for Britney over the past year, including Claude, who insisted she was a consummate professional when they worked together.

He said: “What I remember the most is that for someone who had been painted as all over the place, a mess, tragic and sloppy, she was incredibly professional.

"Much like a professional dancer, when it comes to the art, she’s a machine. It’s everything around her that’s insane.”

I’ve no doubt that work ethic is still there and the last few years will have given her plenty to write about.

POTTY-mouthed Miley Cyrus turned the air blue as she performed at the Lollapalooza Chile music festival over the weekend.

Shrink-wrapping herself in a figure- hugging blue PVC catsuit, the singer couldn’t resist a series of naughty references.

Not only did she read out a fan sign that took a swipe at her ex Nick Jonas, but she also proudly held up an X-rated message about her career-changing 2013 hit Wrecking Ball.

Prior to strutting on stage to her 2009 hit Party In The USA with the world’s most pointless handbag, Miley’s intro video whipped fans into a frenzy by repeatedly telling them she “needs attention”.

She may be an attention seeker but Miley is also one of the biggest stars on the planet right now.

Hopefully she will be back performing here in the UK in the near future.

It’s been too long.

THIS evening, Teenage Cancer Trust will kick off its most impressive week of shows yet.

Taking over London’s Royal Albert Hall, the gigs aim to raise as much money as possible for one of the most worthwhile causes going.

As a reward for their bravery, some of the youngsters who have been cared for by the trust’s amazing staff have been invited to the shows for a top night out.

I have nothing but respect for the stars who have given up their time for these truly special gigs and can’t wait to head down there myself later this week.

HE’S one of the most successful presenters in the country.

So it’s nice to know that Rylan Clark is just like the rest of us.

He enjoyed a wild weekend with his Radio 2 pals, opting to swerve an overpriced members’ club for a humble boozer.

And the next morning he woke up snuggled under the covers with . . . a leftover takeaway.

He tweeted: “Woke up with a Chicken Select stuck to my face . . . Cheers.”

I have to admit that I have been there myself, so don’t worry Rylan, you are in good company.

DEMI Lovato has done surprising collaborations with Clean Bandit and Olly Murs before, but the next Brit to work with the US star is the most unlikely one yet.

I can reveal the former Disney Channel actress has enlisted UK drag act Bimini Bon-Boulash for a track, so things really must be desperate.

Bimini, who appeared on the British version of RuPaul’s Drag Race last year, caught Demi’s eye after launching a solo career with the single God Save This Queen.

Despite it failing to trouble the charts Demi’s team reached out and a song is on the way.

A source said: “Demi has been busy working on a new album and it has a rocky sound, which is about as far away as you could get from songs like Cool For The Summer and Confident.

“They both identify as non-binary and they are huge fans of each other so when the offer came in, Bimini jumped at the chance.

“Exact details are still being worked out but the track should be out in the coming months.”

Despite not winning the second series of the BBC Three show, Bimini has landed a string of high-profile deals since shooting to fame on the programme – writing a book, appearing in Vogue and appearing in music videos for Little Mix and Ava Max.

I don’t quite get it myself, but each to their own.

HE may have taken over the pop world with One Direction but Liam Payne still dreams of cracking Hollywood.

I can reveal the singer will jet to America this week to hob-nob with some of the world’s biggest film stars in the run-up to Sunday’s Oscars.

As well as bagging tickets to some of the most exclusive parties ahead of the awards, Liam also has an incredible lunch lined up with Kill Bill actress Uma Thurman.

Speaking to fans online, Liam admitted he hopes to land a role in a “comedy or action film” in the near future.

He famously auditioned for superstar director Steven Spielberg for West Side Story but didn’t get the part.

Hopefully, this time around he will have more luck making it in Tinseltown.

IF I was to ever get snapped leaving the gym I assure you I wouldn’t look half as good as this.

Bella Hadid appeared practically catwalk ready as she headed out into New York following a workout.

Teaming blue joggers with a black bralette, the supermodel showed off her slender frame.

She mixed up the look by wearing an unbuttoned white shirt and matching shades.

Bella recently opened up to Vogue about going under the knife when she was just 14-years-old.

Regretting the procedure, she said: “I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors. I think I would have grown into it.”

Shutting down speculation she’s had countless procedures during her career, Bella added: “I have never used filler. Let’s just put an end to that. I have no issue with it, but it’s not for me.

“Whoever thinks I’ve gotten my eyes lifted or whatever it’s called –it’s face tape! The oldest trick in the book.”
