Donald F. and Jean L. Scott Bay City, Michigan Our beloved parents, grandparents, brother, sister, uncle and aunt passed from this earth together Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at McLaren Bay Region at the same time despite being admitted for different ailments and on separate floors. Don, age 69, was born May 7, 1953, in Bay City to Floyd and Edna Marie (LaFond) Scott. Jean, age 68, was born on March 5, 1954, to Thomas and Doris (Neiman) Wilson. These soulmates were joined in marriage on November 26, 1971 and lived in the area all of their life. Don worked for Duro Supply Company from 1971 until the company closed in 2016. He also took great pride in owning and operating his own business, Don's Fiberglass Tub Repair, which he began in 1994. During his younger years, Don earned many recognitions and broke many records on the track and field team in school. He had a strong belief that he could fix anything with just duct tape, wire coat hangers, and zip ties. Some of his most treasured memories were of him working on vehicles and other projects with his son and grandson. Jean was best known for being a homemaker and working along side her husband on projects they enjoyed together. She loved spending time searching for great deals at garage sales with her daughter and granddaughter. Together, Don and Jean had a great passion for spending time outdoors. Their greatest joys came when gardening, camping, taking care of God's creatures, and simply appreciating nature. They lived for serving the Lord through their unwavering compassion, kindness, and generosity toward others. They leave their beloved children, Christine (Jacob) Matthews and Phillip (Sam) Scott, grandchildren, Samantha Ward and Tyler (Stephanie Bloom) Wardto carry on their legacy. They will be especially missed by their pampered fur babies, Dixie and Tony. In addition, Don leaves two brothers, Timothy (Vicky) Scott, Daniel Scott, and one sister-in-law, Mardy Scott. Jean leaves five siblings, Sharon (Duane) Dix, Thomas (Ceil) Wilson, Mitchell (Barb) Wilson, James (Annette) Wilson, and Joyce (John) Gavagan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Donald and Jean were predeceased in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas (Cheryl) Scott, David Scott and Michelle Scott as well as a precious niece, Marlene Wilson. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Hannah and Kody, CCU nurses and Josh and Chris, ER nurses at McLaren Bay for their care these past few weeks; Dr. Charlotte Yang and Dr. Bergman for their dedicated care of Jean these past years; and especially Dr. KochunniMohan, whom they credit for giving them an extra 31 years with Don.
