Colorado Head Coach Karl Dorrell Opening Statement “Frustrating day but I felt like looking at the game there were some positive things that even though we weren't a factor was getting a chance to win this one. It just got away with us but I was encouraged by the young freshmen that we decided to use. I felt he (Owen McCown) did some positive things overall. He did some rookie things as well, but I was encouraged by really his poise. He had a lot of good poise. I'm sure he'll look at the tape and say that there's a lot of stuff that he can definitely improve on. We didn't help him at times, particularly early. We had some drop passes that probably could have gave us some consistency early of at least the opportunity to put some points on the board so we didn't get great series early. We did start the first series as a game without a turnover, so that was encouraging. I felt like watching him play he could have, I'm sure he's going to say that I've had a few more plays I could have made out there. On the on the flip side of it, though the game kind of just got out of hand a little bit towards the middle of it. There were some consecutive series, particularly when offense wasn't getting any points and we're punting the ball back to them. They scored consecutive touchdowns that can get the game out of balance pretty quickly. That was kind of the case a little bit for us, even though we made a run and it was 21 to 10 at halftime. We just didn't do those things that we needed to do in the second half. Right now, we have a lot of a lot of things to really shore up. There's a lot of areas that need a lot of work that we've been working on and we're going to continue to work on. Overall, it’s a young team that needs to continue to grow and mature as we go and hopefully as we go we want to have success but that's been short of it right now. We have plenty to work on. Few things that we can utilize in this game as some positive things to move forward with, but we just have a tremendous amount of work to do with this team.” On Owen McCown “I'll talk with the offensive staff. It's hard to really say that right now after the game, but I was encouraged. I'll definitely tell you that. I was really encouraged with how he worked out there. I don't think it got too big to him but there were a few plays there you can see as jitters but I thought it overall, he played he played okay. He played okay. I don't know if it was good enough to win obviously we didn't win but there's some positive moments there I saw in his play.” On the Defense “We're really working hard on trying to get those things shored up and some of it is just been some of our players are just in the wrong gap. They're not in their proper gap in that particular call and that's the challenging part. Particularly if they're busting through there on touch somebody's in the wrong gap so we have to continue. We were using a lot of our linebackers. We need to find the best consistency that we can there to give us to play a little bit better. Sometimes it was a linebacker issue or it was a D line issue, or defensive lineman being cut out of the gap. There's definitely that's a big issue right now that we need to shore up more than anything in my opinion. I know they've hit some passes against us, but the running game the rushing game, the last three the last four games has been our nemesis on defense and we have to find a way to get that shored up.” On Jaylee Stacks and the Running Backs “He (Jaylee Stacks) had a little bit of a ding shoulder from the Minnesota game. I didn't feel comfortable playing him so that's why he didn't play. The other thing is we got Anthony Hankerson back we got Charlie (Offerdahl) we got Deion (Smith), those are the primary three and we're going to rotate those guys. We don't necessarily treat any of them as a starter. We're going to go with the hot hand. We thought Charlie gave us the most efficiency today.” On the Flow of the Offense and Other Quarterbacks “Yeah, we did some positive things in the first half. I was encouraged that the no turnover in the first series was a big point and I'm not joking. That was something that was seriously talked about and making sure we don't turn the ball over the first series. He (McCown) did some really positive things and he did some rookie things, too. He's going to get tested every week. Particularly if he ends up being our starter moving forward, they're going to challenge him every week just because he's so young, and he just got here this summer. The reason why he wasn't in the equation was he just got here this summer and we felt very comfortable with B Lew (Brendon Lewis) and JT (Shrout) has been really the top two guys to really work to get the bulk of the work to run the offense. It's hard for offensive linemen and defensive linemen to play in their first years. It's pretty hard for a quarterback to do that as well. With his progression, he made sense. When he came in in June through their training camp, we caught up to everybody that gave us a little bit of a thought process of maybe he should be our three going into the season. That's kind of how it led to him being at that point. And now where we are right now.” On the True Freshman Starts “Well, we talked enough about Owen. I thought Anthony Hankerson did a couple of nice runs in there today. I was really encouraged by that. He's a guy that had a good training camp until he had a little soft tissue injury and it set him back for four weeks and this was a week to come back so I was encouraged there. I was encouraged by Jordan Tyson. He just has a knack of making plays in opportune times. He finds a way to get open, he makes a good scramble play where Owen hits him in the red zone and then he scores a touchdown on a different drive later in the game. Chase Sowell as well is one of those players I really think is a really good player, a young player that's playing. Van wells, who is our starting left guard right now and true freshman. We've talked about that with him being a true freshman, playing in the offensive line. That's usually very, very unique for that to happen. We have a few guys like that and obviously the young secondary so we just have got to get better, you know, we got to get better. The encouraging thing in the locker room is that, believe me, they're challenged about getting better. They're challenged among each other about getting this thing right. It's in their minds, they know it’s back to the grind about getting this fixed. It's not a we're quitting or it's not a feeling sorry for ourselves. A lot of things can happen when you're at this position in a season. These guys have shown some resilience about moving forward and getting this thing going because they think they have that type of capability to do so. We're going to keep pushing the envelope as coaches, we have got to put them in better position. We have got to coach better. I've have got to start that along with the coaches and our guys want to work. They are working, they are getting better. We just have to get better a lot faster than what the pace is right now.” On Defense “I think the first thing is first is we got to show up our run game gap integrity of our rush, you know, that's plaguing us, you know, through for games. And then we have to find the right people. You know, that's in our program and we're rotating a number of players we're just trying to find the right combinations to help us you know, on that side. And they're there believe me they're frustrated too. You know, they want to get this thing fixed. They do.”  On Defensive Run Game  “Since the TCU game and we had a bunch of other big rounds get out where we didn't even get in front of them. So it's still plaguing us right now. We felt we had those things. Wee did a couple of different defensive schemes this this for this game. And they worked well for the most part, but still, we had some of those rushes that you know, seemed like they were untouched. And that's, you know, that's not good. It's not good. And, you know, we have to, we have to get those things fixed.” On Young Team  “Well, it's a young team that's going to continue to get better, they will get better. We'll get better. You gotta go at the pace of where are you, what's your, your experiences? I want our fan base to, to understand we're putting a lot of work and effort into trying to get these things, you know, adjusted to to be more productive to be more of an improvement for everybody. I have one example, you know, and you're just kind of similar, but, I did leave Colorado in 1994, to go to coach and that's when Rick Neuheisel came here with Bill McCartney. And that team that I was coaching out at Arizona State was a sophomore freshman team, you know, we had a young quarterback with Jake Plummer,  so we took our lumps that year and, and, obviously I came back here because that's when Rick got the head job, but I think a year or two later, they're in the Rose Bowl and they wanted the championship. So, some of it is just a youth.  I hate to use that as an excuse. But, you know, you have to they have to learn,it's like what Owens going through, right, he's playing, he's going to see some things and he'll grow and learn from as he continues to play in his experience. You know, that's really at every position they're learning. Oh, if I get beat on a double move, it's on the corner. Or if I'm trying to work at a combination block between the tackle and guard and you know, the three technique loops inside the guard. And so the guards doesn't necessarily have the combination now we're going to have to tackle so there's a certain things that be the adjustments of, of football, in play in games, that you can't replicate in practice. Those are the things that you have to anticipate and be able to function well in and perform well in games. And that's why young players are challenged more than guys that are with experienced because they've seen a lot of those things in their past before. So we just want to encourage everybody to hang in there. You know, just hang in there and we're going to keep battling. We're going to keep fighting. We're going to play for 60 minute. We're gonna play till the very last play. And this point this team has enough character about that. So within all that we want to play good football for our our fans to enjoy what we're doing so we understand the frustration believe me and that's why we've been working pretty hard.”  On Negative Comments “Well, that's part of life. I during a part of life is there's going to be people that are for you and people are gonna be against you. You know, that's, that's an everything there's, people usually against me for winning too. So it's, it happens a lot. You know, that's kind of what life is you're going to have to deal with some very difficult circumstances. And going through adversity is part of growing up through that process and our players understand that are beginning to understand that you know, they don't like it, we all don't like it but they understand that sometimes that's what's that's what the issue is and you have to find a way to get yourself out of it. And we got fighters on our staff. We got guys on in our program, coaches, players that are going to fight their way out of this, including myself. And, you know, those are the only things that we can control right now. You know, we can't worry about all the other things that could or would happen, you know, we just have to worry about the things that we can control from our own efforts.”  UCLA Head Coach Chip Kelly General  “Anytime you get a conference win on the road, I thought our offensive did a really nice job executing. Defensively I thought we played well. We have to clean up the penalty situation that extended drives a few times and I think some of the some of their success was really our guys making mistakes. So, we'll clean that up. I thought they responded well losing Murf early. It's hard a penalty. I thought we did a really nice job just from what you can see from the sideline. So offensively I think we put we didn't punt in the first half, we missed a short fourth down that we went for, but I thought they were clicking. I thought Dorian got the ball to a lot of different receivers today. Now having Zach back, obviously was a big impact for us. And Dorian with his legs. I think we kind of got the ball distributed to the perimeter, and then you have a quarterback who can run and there's kind of the difference. On second half adjustments  “I think Billy and those guys did a really good job making a few adjustments, from a scheme standpoint, and then our conditioning I think is sharp and all four games that we played. It was a hot game today. I think we wore them down a little bit. I think that's a factor in general, how are players trained during the week. So, we always seem to be going four for four in those opportunities. We've been the freshest team in the second half. “ On conditioning  “It's everything. There's a mindset that we talked about all the time how we fuel, how we train, how we recover. We're pretty dialed in from that aspect in terms of how we do it, and I think it's paid off.  You look at the Bowling Green game, and they had 10 or 11 guys go down with cramps, we didn’t have anybody. Look at our conditioning, and I think it's shown up in four games.  I think it’s part of what our DNA is right now in terms of how we train and what we do and it benefits you on game days.” On playing at altitude “Yeah, well football is an anaerobic sport. So, I think the altitude thing goes out. We're not running cross country. So, some people try to make a big deal out of that, but when you look at the physiological part of it, there isn't really much effect from an altitude standpoint. I think people in Colorado want you to believe that and think about it. There's a big sign of what the elevation is. We don't notice it because we cover it up. So, our players have no idea if we played at altitude or below sea level today, so we don't even talk about it. On not winning in Boulder since 2014 “I think every win is really important. Anytime you can beat a quality opponent on the road in the league is huge. And if you want to be competitive in the league, you have to win road games. That's really what the most important thing is for us. But, you know, everybody in that locker room wasn't there in 2014 and someone's kids were in elementary school. So, you know those things don't really mean anything. They're facts, but they don't really pertain to this group this team this year. “ On the run game I think it's a combination of our quarterback is a threat every time he hands the ball off, so I think people have to play him. In terms of being able to run, I think Tim Drevno has our offensive line doing a really good job creating some things. I think our ability to throw off our run game, we had some big chunk plays in play action pass. So really put some of the linebackers in dual conflict they’re runs stoppers, but they got to play pass and kind of make them a little bit indecisive. So, I think the mix up, play action pass quarterback run and running back run, I think is what helped us today.” On the offensive tempo “It's important every day, you want to dictate and play football downhill, not uphill. I think our guys understand that. That's just another tool in our toolbox. It's not something that we do all the time, but it's also something that we can use if we if we feel like it's necessary and can give us some looks.  I think it’s a credit to our guys that they can handle it, with the volume of offense that we have the ability to run a lot of tempo things I think was really beneficial to us.” On the efficiency of the Offense “I think it's really the execution part of it. The second drive we have a seven-play drive. It only took a minute and we scored. We're just trying to score and that's what we're trying to do every single time. We probably leaned a little bit more on a template today. But I felt like that was something that we needed to do. It just depends on which week and how the game unfolds. But it was I think the efficiency of the offense was really huge in terms of our execution.” On preparing for three Quarterbacks “We prepared for all three, because all three had played. Owen, he kind of played at the end of the Minnesota game so you kind of saw what he was going to do. You knew they like to run a little bit of boot to the left where he could roll to his arm side because he's different than in both Shroud and Lewis because those they're both right handed. So, I try to give them a little bit more roll left. We were kind of conscious of that and the boot game and you know move from around in the pocket a little bit and we were kind of we prepared for that. Then once they announced, our coaches work their game plan off of that.” On the importance of the win “Everything's important. I think once you can gain you get your first league win, that's obviously important. There's no north south anymore, it's just it's one division. So, every victory that you  get is an opportunity to put on the on the right side of the ledger is huge. So that's a big deal for us. It's not whether we're heading into the conference play every game we have from round one as a conference game and we know we all played our out of conference schedules and now we get into league play. So anytime you can get a win in this league because everybody's playing each other so you know six teams are going to have six teams are going to be 1-0 when all the teams are going to be 0-1. It's always good when it comes down to it. When you get a chance to play in the championship game. You can look back at a win like this could be the difference in playing in that game. On Laiatu Latu  “A gutty a performance by him.  Just watched how hard he's worked from a rehab standpoint. It's awesome to see, he's got such a work ethic. He's starting to get a little bit more comfortable, a little bit more confident playing with a little bit more poise. It's something that we thought when we when we him here that he could he could do and now that we're starting to see him. You can see him get better and better each week and that's the cool part of it.” Colorado Players RB Charlie Offerdahl FEELING ABOUT HIS OWN PLAY – “Yes sir. I mean, I just want to start out by saying, you know, as a team, this is tough. I just want to say to like, the boulder and buffalo crowd, we're gonna get this right. As far as me, it's not so much me, me, me, but it was good to get out there. Get some reps early. Get into the flow of the game. You know, but I gotta dedicate all of my success to the O line. I can't get anything done without them.” ON IF IT IS A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION FOR THE TEAM – “Yes, sir. I do think it was definitely a step. You know, those scoring drives were weakened. One play at a time, get down in the field, and really work as a team to get in that endzone. We really need to build on that and that success that we have, you know. Come film tomorrow, we need to fix what we did wrong but focusing on what we did right and building on that, it’s big time.” ON WHY TEAM COULDN’T EXECUTE IN 3rd – “I think as far as the third quarter, probably some mental mistakes here and there. Some miscommunication but you know. I mean, just really focusing on what's important. That's what we got to do next. Not fourth quarter producing points. That's what we need to get back to.” ON IF ATTITUDE AND ETHIC IS STILL WITH THE TEAM –“ I mean, it's definitely tough seeing the scoreboard, but as far as the team morale, it's hard. We're positive. We're hopeful. and we know what we can do. It's just coming out here, on whether that's Friday or Saturday, and executing our game plan. And that's what we need to focus on.” S Trevor Woods ON MORAL TO KEEP WORKING – “I do. guys work hard. You know, it's just when it comes down to is, you know, that's the biggest problem. Everybody's going out there. You know? We're doing everything we can. We just gotta execute. It's the biggest thing.” ON CHALLENGES UCLA PRESENTED – “It's, I mean, it's kind of I look at it the same way you look at every week. Every team can throw the ball. Every team can run it. You gotta read your keys and you know, it should all fall in place.” ON HOW TO GET DEFENSE TO STOP RUN GAME – “Biggest thing is the want to. Guys gotta to stick in their guts. Guys got to make tackles. I mean, that's, that's our biggest problem right now so that’s all I can really say.” ON HOW LOW SCORING OFFENSE AFFECTS DEFENSE – “I mean, we got to worry about ourselves. You know, last time I checked, we just gave up 45 points. You know, it's not like you know we're shutting down at twenty and we're not scoring it all. You know, it's not that, we just gave up 45 points. We're not we shouldn't be worried about what the offense is doing. This is on everybody.” HOW TO SHAKE OFF THE LOSSES –“Just got to get back to work. I mean, there's really nothing else I mean, we got to go watch the film, go over things we messed up. Fix them. Get it right the next week. Watch what they do. Work on everything. I mean just got to be ready for next week.” DE Chance Main ON DEFENSE “We just had a few things that we were having problems executing. And you know, every week we try to put that puzzle together and fix all those holes, and there were times that those holes are open and we didn't get there, so I mean, nothing special from them. They were pretty sound the whole game. We're consistent throughout the whole thing, so good for them.”  ON PLAYING AGAINST DORIAN THOMPSON-ROBINSON-“So it does make my job a little harder because we do have certain gaps and assignments that, you know, every D lineman has, and we work with the safeties and linebackers and everything. So you know, there are times that I got to play that see, but I also got to ensure I get that contained. So I got to take away the cut back from the running back, and I also got to get out there and make that play on the running back and decide to scramble in with him being a fast guy like that, you know, it does, open them up. To have more options and sometimes get away with it, but I just got to trust in myself, you know, be able to make those plays. And if I got to put those big plays on my back, I will because I don't have a lot of time.  ON NEXT WEEK'S GAME  “So we haven't even looked at Arizona yet. Of course, just wrapping this game up and everything. There are some things we have to correct that have just kind of carried over for the past four weeks. And everybody's aware of what those problems are. So I hope that we can all get on the same page as a team and as a staff and everybody in here. Because winning is hard. And it takes everybody to be on the exact same page. So I hope we can clear those things up this week. We all stay together as a team at times like this. It's difficult. Everybody has their own opinion on this, and they have a lot of outside noise, so it can get challenging, but I feel we can do it. It's all there.”  OL Frank Fillip ON THE MOOD OF THE TEAM: -“I mean, obviously, it's very difficult. But there's nothing you can do besides just keep pushing and keep working. Like I mean, what are you going to give up? like you can't, so you got to keep going.”  ON CONSITENT WEAKNESSES- “Overall, to me, it just seems like a lack of execution. I mean, we'll get it done in practice all week. We'll have a great week of practice, and then go out on Saturday and we just aren't executing like we should.”  ON OWEN McCOWN: -“I think for a true freshman stepping up and taking the job he did really well. He was definitely very composed. He never seemed to freak out or get nervous or anything. He was just very level headed the whole time. So I applaud him for that. I think he did a hell of a job today.”  ON KARL DORRELL’S STATUS-“I mean, not gonna lie. It's difficult like you said. I've been through it a couple of times. But I know that from our standpoint, we're behind him. We love Coach Dorrell. We believe in him and we think that we can turn this around.” ON THE FRESHMAN STARTERS:-“I mean, Ben doesn't really need a lot of bringing along and he's pretty ready. He seems like an older guy to me. I forget that he's only a freshman. But yeah, the younger guys, I mean, I was thrown into the fire at a young age my freshman year so I get it. I kind of sympathize with them, try to help them out wherever I can. But you know if you're going to be on the field, you got to execute.”  ON VICTOR VENN-“I mean, he doesn't let that stuff bother him. He’s just a one player move on kind of guy like he's able to just focus on the next play, and not let past mistakes bother him.”  LB Josh Chandler-Semedo ON MOOD OF THE TEAM-“Building off of what Frank said, [we] definitely just got to try to stay competitive and that’s the ultimate goal. You never want to lose; nobody plays to lose, practices to lose, and put the same effort in every week. We’ve just got to get stuff fixed. The headspace really can't get worse, it can only get better. So that's the positive you can take from it, but you can't take too many positives from it because the end result [from] the last couple of weeks, but probably just stay the course. Keep striving, something will happen.” ON DEFENSIVE ISSUES-“Really just making plays. The plays we make in practice, we haven't been able to make in the game. We've created a lot of one on ones for us to execute and we haven’t executed, so that’s really it. Every play somebody has to make a play; [the play] is schemed up for the ball to go somewhere to somebody, whether that person makes a play or not, depending on what they do. And we haven't made those plays as a defense.” ON CONSISTENT WEAKNESSES-“For us defensively, definitely tackling and consistency. We'll fix stuff up great at times, and then we'll be nowhere near where we need to be. We'll tackle great, at times, and then we'll be like a backyard banjo or something like that. I mean, we have veteran guys, we have older guys, we do have a lot of young guys, but the expectation is still high. It doesn't matter if you're a freshman or a senior out there, you expect to play on the field. So, that’s the number one thing for me is probably just tackling.” ON HIS LEADERSHIP-“Really just lead by example. I understand my role, if I show any sign of negativity, or if I show any sign of me not being focused, that that bleeds and feeds off everything. So I got to just coach myself and stay positive, no matter what anything we get. But we really just try to feed wisdom. I've seen a lot of ball, played a lot of ball, [I’ve] played in about 45-50 games, started almost 40. [I’m] very experienced, but I'm basically doing a disservice to other players if I can't try to share that. And right now, I'm not. I'm not executing that role. Well, I got to be able to share that experience that I have with others.” ON MISCUES AND BLAME-“Me personally, that’s 1,000% on the players. I'm being an older guy in situations where coaches have called the absolute worst call they can call in that situation. And we still got to execute it. We [are] the ones in between those four lines. We [are] the ones working hard all week, we are the ones who put in the effort and put in the time and we got to match that. Like, [the players are] playing. It should never be on anything with the coaches, it actually kind of ticks me off anytime coaches get blamed because they aren't the ones that are playing. All the blame should be toward [the players]. We're putting the product on the field. Be mad at us; don't be mad at any coaches.” ON DORRELL-“I came to CU because of Coach Dorrell, he has my 1000% faith. Bottom line, he can’t go out there and play. The coaches who he brings in, they can’t go out there and play. We’re the players. I mean, you could say you could recruit but you kind of get what you get in this recruiting deal. Like we basically got the team and we got to go play.” QB Owen McCown ON HOW HE FEELS-“Good. I felt like I got into a rhythm early and settled down. I thought I played good, just not good enough. I got too greedy coming out in the second half and that hurt the offense.” ON HOW HE FEELS WITH OFFENSE-“I thought [head] coach [Karl] Dorrell, coach [offensive coordinator] [Mike] Sanford, [QB] coach Patterson, and coach Mcgahee all implemented a great plan. There are some throws I have to make. There were guys that were open. I can help the O-line out with making those calls but I thought the game plan coming in was amazing.” ON ANY IF HE HAD NERVES-“Surprisingly, I really wasn't that nervous. I felt more excitement. Obviously with the first snap going out there, had to take deep breath and really get settled down. Coach [Mike] Sanford had some good early calls to get me settled in the game and that really helped. I thought as an offense, we showed a little improvement. From a team standpoint, just onto the next week. There’s an emphasis on how we respond. ON HAVING A SHORT MEMORY-“There were good things that happened. You know what I mean? We're also just forgetting all those bad things and just moving on. I think that's the biggest thing as an offense collectively, having that short memory and just being able to flush one bad play and move on to the next. That can lead to better and more sustainable drives. ON TOUCHDOWNS-“Yeah, it felt good. First one's always a cool one. I'm more disappointed with the final score and how I played. Thought I could have played better. But it’s all about having a short memory and moving onto next week.  UCLA Players QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson ON STAYING IN RYTHYM- “Yeah, I think it’s just staying along with the game plan. Chip does a really good job of allowing me to get the ball out of my hands fast whether it’s my first or second read or if I had to take it to a check down. I think it’s just following the system and trusting my receivers and obviously the offensive line blocking their asses off.” ON HIS LONG RUNS- “I had to make a read there. They did a good job defensively in the second half, adjusting their defensive ends and not allowing me to pull the ball as much.” ON THE EARLY SUCCESS- “I think I was more focused on catching my breath after those long runs with the elevation, but like you said, just going fast. That's what we want to do, we want to start fast. I talked to all the boys this morning, letting them know this is the type of game where we need to come up here with the wheels rolling and be able to start fast and trying not to put ourselves in a hole.” ON ZACK CHARBONNET RETURNING- “Yeah, you know we've rested him and made sure that he's full go for when he's ready. And you saw it today, so I couldn't be more proud of him as well as the rest of the guys. Zack was for sure on point today.” ON PULLING THE BALL- “Yeah, a lot of those were off tempos. Their answer to tempo was to go to man coverage and when you go man coverage you got to have a quarterback playing in the read zone game. So, they ended up only having one in the back which was a defensive end and there was nobody else left. So I just follow my rules and all my progressions.” ON COACH CHIAVERINI- “I've personally played against this team for four years now and so for him I think it was more of just letting us know that he's been there before. He told us this is the type of team that they are and he helped us with scouting and all that stuff. So yeah, Coach Chiaverini was definitely a big part of this week for sure. It was big week for him.” WR Matt Sykes ON GETTING THE KIND OF RYTHYM YOU WATED OUT THERE-“Yeah I feel like we started off the game strong. That’s something that we've been showing the last few games, but I think today we showed that we can come out strong and really set our pace and not try and play from behind. I think we did a good job today but we can always improve.” ON DORIAN BEING LOCKED IN- “Yeah, Dorian look locked in today. Locked in with all his reads and our whole game plan. I think it went pretty smooth for us today.  ON WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT THE TEAM WINNING IN BOULDER FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2014- “I think it's telling us that we're turning the edge. We've been struggling especially coming in here. This is a hard environment to play in. I feel like today we came out we gave everything offense defense special teams and really got the job done.” ON IF THE EARLY OFFENSIVE SUCCESS WAS BECAUSE OF THE TEMPO OR EXECUTION- “I think was a mixture of both. Tempo was a big part of our game plan coming in this week, just keeping the defense on their heels and watching film of other teams and how they attack their defense. We formed our game plan around that and I think we executed it what today.” ON IF YOU KNEW YOUR NAME WOULD BE CALLED- “I didn't know my number was going to be called, but you know I always try and stay ready. Whether it's an offseason fall camp, I just train like I'm ready to go in and make a play.  Today luckily, my name was called so I had to make a play and I did.” ON HEARING THEY MAY WANT TO GO WITH BIGGER WIDE RECIEVERS- “No, not really. I think it was just I was fortunate enough to go in there, and I was open and Dorian threw me good ball.  ON IF YOU NOTICED THE ALTITUDE PLAYING A FACTOR- “It definitely plays a factor when we're warming up. You can definitely feel your breath is going a lot quicker. I think it took a lot to adjust to the altitude, but we did a good job.” ON WHAT GOES INTO WINNING THE CONDITIONING BATTLE IN THE SECOND HALF- “I think it all starts on the practice field. Just the coaches keeping a high standard for us in practice. We run a lot of tempo where we're always trying to make sure that we're working on our conditioning, and then like you said, when it's off the field we're training, we're recovering, we're healing. It's a 24 hour job, it's not just practice, but I think all that our mindset and lifestyle helps.”  ON IF YOU COULD FEEL THE OTHER TEAM BEING MORE DOWN THEN YOU GUYS- “Oh yeah, definitely. Especially when you come out into the second half and we keep playing tempo. You can definitely tell defense starts to wear down. ON HOW NICE IT IS TO COME IN AND WIN YOUR FIRST ROAD CONFERENCE GAME- “It's huge. Especially like coach said, next game we got a Friday game against Washington at home. That's huge. I think this win is a great one. A momentum causer for next week. So, I'm excited. “ LB Laiatu Latu ON THREE SACK PERFORMANCE- “It felt really good, it felt really good being with the people that I was out there with too. They made it a lot easier.” ON GABRIEL MURPHY INIJURY- “We just kept the same mentality and we're going to put it on them the whole time. It sucks that we lost Gabe but we just got to keep going, and that was the mentality.” ON REASONING FOR PENALTIES- “I think when you get out there and you go on that field you want to make a play. You want to win and I think that's just how we're feeling and we'll clean that up come next week.” ON NEAR INTERCEPTION- “I knew the call and I knew that I was dropping and I tear my feet. I was playing run. I went back, and I was still looking at the quarterback. That ball came pretty dang fast. At least they didn't catch it. ON SHAKING OFF RUST- “Knowing me I know I can always get better. And that's what I'm going to continue doing and that's going to be my mentality. ON HOW PREPARED THEY WERE FOR MCCOWN- “We didn't know the whole week. We just played like one of them was going to be the quarterback and we knew that we just wanted to get back there.” ON THE STRIP SACK- “I was making an outside move and I read that he stepped up, so I took an inside move and I wrapped them up. My coaches always told me to be ball aware and I put my hand in there and I swiped at it and I got the ball out. ON IMPORTANCE OF WASHINGTON GAME- “I'm looking at like another game. I know I came from there but we want to win every game just as much and that's how I'm looking at it.” ON KNOWING WASHINGTON PLAYERS- “It's going to be fun seeing them, but I'm treating it like any other game.” ON TRASH TALK WITH WASHINGTON PLAYERS- “They'll probably say something but it's all love at the end of the day,” ON BEING 4-0- “It feels great. It gives us the momentum that we need and we’re going to continue doing that.”
